The Aviation Club in Paris France will once again take on the role of host for the European Poker Awards ceremony which will be held on January 25, 2012, in the midst of the Euro Poker Finals tournament series. Handling the hosting duties for the evening will be the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award winner and former European Poker Players Association (EPPA) secretary Nic Szeremeta. The ceremony will mark the 11th year that the European Poker Awards have been handed out.
An eight-member panel of judges will meet to debate each of the finalists and determine the winners through a “blind” vote, which will then be sealed and only opened on the 25th. Here is a look at each of the categories where a European Poker Award is up for grabs:
- Rookie of the Year
- Leading Lady of the Year
- Best Tournament Performance
- Casino Staff Person of the Year
- The Gardner Memorial Award for the Poker Personality of 2011
- Player of the Year
- Internet Player of the Year
- Best Poker Event of the Year
- The Lifetime Achievement Award
There are plenty of players for the judges to choose from among this year’s likely nominees –although the Tournament Performance of the Year seems like a lock for a certain young German—with names like Sam Trickett, Bertrand Grospellier, Jake Cody, and Chris Moorman likely to get some serious consideration. If you wish to be on the list next year why not try gaining fans by and download carbon poker and start kicking butt and taking names.
